Fauci urges Americans to wear goggles for added COVID-19 protection

Trump revives push for hydroxychloroquine during White House COVID-19 briefing
Dr. Anthony Fauci suggested that people wear goggles or face shields as an added measure of protection against contracting the coronavirus, according to a report.

“If you have goggles or an eye shield, you should use it,” Fauci, 79, the top US infectious disease expert, told ABC News Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton on Wednesday.

When asked if eye protection will become a formal recommendation at some point, he said, “It might, if you really want perfect protection of the mucosal surfaces.”

Fauci, a member of the White House pandemic task force and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, explained the rationale for the measure.

“You have mucosa in the nose, mucosa in the mouth, but you also have mucosa in the eye,” he said. “Theoretically, you should protect all the mucosal surfaces. So if you have goggles or an eye shield you should use it.”

He added that while goggles and eye or face shields are “not universally recommended” at this time, “if you really want to be complete, you should probably use it if you can.”

Fauci also addressed when people should get tested if they believe they’ve been exposed to the bug, since there are no official guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or the National Institutes of Health on the matter.

“That question came up at the task force meeting yesterday and we asked the same thing and we said there’s no real recommendation,” Fauci said on ABC News.

“I would think that five [days] is good. I might even go a day or so early because the incubation period of when you get symptoms is about five days,” he said, adding that the window is “no earlier than three [days] or no later than five or six.”

Fauci also said he hopes wearing masks also will help limit the spread of the flu in the fall.

“It is inevitable that we’re going to have some degree of flu,” he said. “I’m hoping that the wearing of masks and other coverings are going to not only protect us against COVID-19, but also help protect us against influenza.”

Meanwhile, the doctor also discussed the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, saying in an interview on MSNBC that all the “valid” scientific data show the drug is not effective in treating COVID-19.

“You look at the scientific data and the evidence. And the scientific data … on trials that are valid, that were randomized and controlled in the proper way, all of those trials show consistently that hydroxychloroquine is not effective in the treatment of coronavirus disease or COVID-19,” he said.

His remarks came a day after President Trump renewed his push for coronavirus patients to take the controversial drug.

Trump reveals he’s been taking hydroxychloroquine for a week and ‘I’m still here’
The president spoke at length during a White House press briefing about the medication, including his experience taking it for two weeks as a COVID-19 prophylactic.

“Many doctors think it is extremely good and some people don’t… I happen to believe in it. I would take it. As you know, I took it for a 14 day period and I’m here, right? I’m here,” he said.

On Monday night, Trump retweeted some messages of support for the drug’s use.

“It’s safe. It doesn’t cause problems. I had no problem. I had absolutely no problem — felt no different, didn’t feel good bad or indifferent,” Trump said Tuesday. “It didn’t get me and it’s not going to hopefully hurt anybody.”

The president on Tuesday said he was unaware of Fauci’s views on hydroxychloroquine and that he has a “good relationship” with the doctor, despite an overnight retweet of a message, which was later removed, criticizing the infectious disease expert.

During the Tuesday press conference, Trump was asked by a reporter about a video he shared on Twitter that claimed hydroxychloroquine is “a cure for COVID” and “you don’t need a mask” to slow the spread of coronavirus.

The clip was later labeled as containing misleading information and has since been deleted.

“I wasn’t making claims,” Trump said of his tweet, noting that he was relaying recommendations from other people, including physicians.

“Many doctors think it is extremely successful, the hydroxychloroquine coupled with the zinc and perhaps the azithromycin,” he said. “Many doctors think it’s extremely good, and some people don’t.”

CDC gaffes

How far can we trust the CDC? Not very far, to judge by

The question — as with so many places in America — is how good of a job the
government is doing tracking deaths from the disease.
is important for a whole host of reasons. It allows us to know how deadly the

prevalent. Errors are inevitable, and individual deaths may only be a single

The share of Americans

The U.S. death toll hit a once-unfathomable 150,000 Wednesday
after Northeast nursing homes were battered early, minority populations faced
outsized risks and the South and West experienced a midsummer resurgence.

Pandemic trackers put the share of U.S. residents who test
positive and then die at 3.4%, far better than the 15% in the United Kingdom
and roughly 14% in France and Italy, or 7.6% in Canada.

Censorship 101. The whole video of the presser is not
available anywhere. In excerpts, the doctors expose how easy it is to fight the Coronavirus.
But the CDC doesn’t want anyone to know.

McCloskey saga

The McCloskey story deserves a recapitulation.

On June 28When protesters marched along his private street in St. Louis on Sunday, Mark McCloskey and his wife

scene instantly went viral, even being retweeted — and then deleted — by
President Trump.
But in an interview with CNN’s Chris Como on Tuesday night, McCloskey

Our prosthetics culture

Our new prosthetics culture.—by progressive stealth.
lock jaw masks – Arthrocentesis or  prosthetics
an artificial feature or piece of flexible material applied
to a person’s face or body to change their appearance temporarily.

1735–40; < Modern Latin prostheticus, from
Hellenistic Greek prosthetikós, equivalent to prósthet(os) “added

I barely recognize my country now.
people are being given
citations (not
cheap) or are being cuffed for not wearing the disfiguring prosthetics properly
to “fight” or arrest the spread of the CODIV-19 virus. So. In many locales
Americans have acquired a prosthetics, more or less permanently, and do so by
mandate, not by law (if it was by law it would still be horrific and not make a
difference in the “fight” against the virus, except to me these are not the
fellow citizens I grew up with. The lock jaw prosthetics are certainly
artificial. The instances of citations and fines can only multiply. In
West Hollywood, (Face
coverings have also been required in Los Angeles County since May 14
), in Santa Monica,
residents could be fined $100 if they don’t wear a mask or
comply with social distancing (or
keeping at least six feet of distance from others). Second and third violations
would result in $250 and $500 fines respectively, and businesses that break the
mask or social distancing mandates could receive up to $1,000 in fines.
They will multiply because modern cops will
only trade issuing banal parking tickets for punishing citizens for not
complying with arbitrary power of the civic elites, for not obeying the
dictates of tin pot dictators who pose now as “life savers.”. .

has jumped onto the mask mania. As well as Arizona..
The mask mandates are convenient exercises of power to force people to pretend they are “saving lives” and
“aiding the community.”

 The CDC,
of course, is the principle cheerleader for mandating a near
universal mask policy.
Trump has not echoed its yearning for mask compliance.
And it is all being orchestrated
by liberals (aka, progressives).

As David Horowitz once said, “Inside every progressive is a totalitarian
screaming to get out.”
America has turned from a freedom loving country to one in
which too many citizens willingly exchange their freedom for one of obedience
and conformity, for the altruist “virtue” of stopping the spread of the virus,
a “virtue” established by the screaming totalitarians.
Americans may need to wear masks for a long time, if
the totalitarians have any say in it.
Politico   The left has been almost uniformly — and loudly — in favor of sacrificing
many personal liberties in exchange for containing the virus’ spread. The right
has been divided, but the vocal activist wing of conservatism that has enormous
influence on social media and Fox News, has been far more willing to attack the
various infringements on where people can go and what they have to wear. The
mask has become the ultimate symbol of this new cultural and political divide.
” Or a symbol of the “New Norm.”

No Masks

No. 2558
“The New Normal. These
are the three most chilling words in public discussion right now. Masks,
keeping our distance from each other, avoiding overseas travel, half-empty pubs,
nods of the head taking the place of handshakes and hugs… these are all part
of The New Normal….It’s clear now that the regime of social distancing has
little to do with Covid-19. Rather, it’s the latest manifestation of
contemporary society’s culture of distrust, suspicion and separation, where
we’re always encouraged to see our fellow citizens as dangerous and diseased,
liable to harm us with their words, their come-ons, their second-hand smoke,

Nor to mention the absence
of masks, which if one is not wearing one will precipitate the instant deaths
of customers at the neighboring table, even as they sip their latte.

For relief
from this insane totalitarian culture, I repair to several of my bought movies,
such as:
North by Northwest,,
The Manchurian Candidate, Gladiator, Laura, and a dozen more, such as Shane and High Noon.

The big attraction for these
and other films is the absence of face masks in any of the stories. They are
the “Normal” for me, not “New,” or regurgitated assertions of “fighting” the
virus to mandate obedience and “patriotism,” which are political impositions
and aspirations, hiving on totalitarian opportunism if anything else..I need  to see these films as a relief from the constant
threat of being punished for not wearing a mask (which I will not wear; I’ll
starve first) and the
incessant announcements  and reminders to
wear masks and maintain one’s “social distance.”

O’Neill wrote:

“We need to ditch the
distancing and get back to the social – to a properly civic world in which
people pull together rather than avoiding each other literally like the

It is a plague

I am startled by how much the 17th

appearance) to the useless, disfiguring masks of today.

The Health Gestapo

[ guhstah-poh; German guhshtah-poh
the German state
secret police during the Nazi regime, organized in 1933 and notorious for its
brutal methods and operations.
Why do I call these people and agencies the Gastapo?
Or, the American not-so-secret
police, during the COVID-19 “pandemic” (or “panic,”  as I favor dubbing it,) notorious now for its
brutal exactations of obedience and submission to mask and social distancing
mandates or rules with the goal of turning people into the new “pod people.”. The
process we are witnessing now evokes for me the story line of “The Body Snatchers,”
1956, 1978) in which people are inexorably turned into soulless clones of each
other while they are asleep. The Gestapo targets anyone eschewing masks and
overbearing government supervision of their lives, as in this instance “House Arrest For Residents Refusing COvId Quarantine Orders.” Complete with
ankle bracelets.

“Elizabeth Linscott said
she got tested for COVID-19 as a precaution because she was planning to visit
her parents in Michigan. She received a positive test result but showed no
symptoms. She said the Hardin County Health Department asked her to sign
documents agreeing to call them any time she left her house. The young mother

opting not to sign the health department papers, Linscott said she received a

KABC-TV reported.
Her husband, Isaiah, said he was greeted by officers at their front door later
that week .The couple said they were fitted with ankle monitors that go off if
they stray more than 200 feet from their home.”
“An Arizona couple was

authorities said.
Montoya, 38, and Victoria Parra Carranza, 23, deliberately coughed
on the
employees when they were asked to put on masks to prevent the spread of
coronavirus Wednesday at the Yuma store, police said. Employees called the
police but the two customers refused to cooperate and became confrontational
when officers arrived.
“Montoya fled the store
on foot and was arrested after fighting with officers, police said.
“Parra Carranza attempted

is more violent, involving a woman arrested in a New York
City subway, after refusing to wear a mask and resisting arrest. . Woman arrested in New York Subway over
Refusal to Wear Mask.

“The New York Police Department (NYPD) said in a
statement that officers approached the woman and “politely informed” her that
she could not be in the subway station without a face covering. Police said
they were met with “vulgar language” from the woman, who “repeatedly refused”
to “properly wear her face covering over her nose and mouth.”

“Officers told her she would be removed from the
station and began to escort her, prompting Rozier to allegedly wave her arms
and strike an officer with her hand.
“As a result of these actions, she was taken into
custody and placed under arrest,” NYPD said.”

There are many more instances of the Gestapo linked in past posts. The one that stands out is a video of store customers chasing an unmasked woman from the store in Staten Island, NY, thus aiding the “escalating actions” of the Gestapo. There are others, too numerous to cite.

I noticed in the video that a cop
put a mask on the woman while she was pinioned by several cops. Refusal to obey any
Covid-19 related mandate now can result in arrest and the theft of one’s
freedom. This is the new America I refuse to conform to. This is also why I no longer fly or go near an airport. The TSA’s grope and search tactics also repulse me.
